It is my philosophy that no matter where you are, what you do, and especially what you cook; it should always be well seasoned! Which means it is at its very best. You’re talent, drive, ambitions, and your food should always be its very best or striving to be at its best. Although I do not claim to be perfect, or even close to it, my passion and love for food is what I classify as well seasoned.
To me, food and cooking should soulful and pure enjoyment. Cooking is therapeutic and allows me to just let go and be creative. It also allows me to spend quality time with my family , whether its by looking up recipes, planning a meal or teaching one another about our cooking styles; it is time very well spent.
Food brings people together and keeps families close and bonded. Just by simply sharing a home-cooked meal with the ones we love can teach us lessons that stay with us for a lifetime. It is no small ordeal. It is a foundation for family life. It is our first experience where we learn the art of conversation. A meal at the dinner table teaches us how to listen, share and take turns. It teaches us to argue without offending and navigate our differences.
I will finish with one my favorite quotes.
“For is there any practice less selfish, any labor less alienated, any time less wasted, than preparing something delicious and nourishing for people you love?”
-Michael Pollan, Cooked
